ARDEX UK, manufacturers of high performance commercial flooring systems, were pleased to utilise their experience within the education sector by playing a role in the development of the new £68 million state-of-the-art Middlesbrough College at Middlehaven in the Tee’s Valley.
Middlesbrough College opened its doors for the first time in September 2008, capping the latest phase in the on-going regeneration of Middlehaven. At five storeys high and covering 32,000m2, Middlesbrough College is one of Tees Valley's largest single standing structures. It boasts more than 70 classrooms, two lecture theatres, six science laboratories, a 156 seat theatre, sports hall, gymnastic training centre, hair and beauty salons, training kitchens, recording studios, construction and engineering workshops and even a travel agency.
ARDEX teamed up with one of the North East’s most established specialist flooring contractors, NO Flaw Limited of North Tyneside to provide the perfect flooring solution for Middlesbrough College’s new Sports Hall. The six-court Sports Hall is capable of accommodating a range of sports, as well as providing a potential conference and event venue.

Sub-Floor Smoothing Compound Base Mix which has been specifically designed for thicker levelling applications from 7mm to 35mm. As with much of the ARDEX range, ARDEX K 15-B is ideal for use in installations where fast track performance is necessary as it combines innovation, cost effectiveness and ease of use to deliver outstanding results. The unique ARDEX Rapidry Formula technology incorporated within ARDEX K 15-B ensured rapid drying and hardening, resulting in a sub-floor that was hard enough to walk on just 2 hours after application and ready to accept floorcoverings within 24 hours.
