These carpets are exclusive and unique thanks to the use of the finest types of wool and the special spinning technology. The yarn is very strong and elastic, though much softer than most wool twist ranges. Thanks to the success of this new collection, the Turkish factory, Balta Orient, has extended its work force to keep up with demand.
Balta’s mission is to offer its clients new, original, high-quality products at an affordable price through constant investments in product innovation and development. With this in mind, the company opened a brand-new woolspinning mill in 1998 in UŞAK, by far the most famous textile region in Turkey with well-trained workers and a great deal of of textile know-how. This mill produces high quality worsted wool yarns for weaving and tufting carpets and uses the finest wool for this. 120 employees produce fine 2-, 3- and even 4-ply yarns with exceptional features combining softness with superior durability. Today, these yarns are referred to by all market players as the best quality product on the market.
The ‘Carpet Couture’ brand includes the following features:
GIANNI is a fine frisé wool in 13 soft fashionable shades. This superior range (80% pure new wool, 10% polyester Wellbond® and 10% polypropylene) is available in widths of 4 and 5 metres and has been treated with Balta's new stain protector, Protect Plus®. The selected types of high-quality wools which are used to spin the fine two-ply wool yarn guarantee carpets that are hardwearing and free of pilling. With a pile weight of 1,100 gr/m2 and complete with the Wool Blend quality label, Gianni is the backbone of this new CARPET COUTURE collection.
No less than 4 very fine-spun wool yarns are twisted together to form a high-quality four-ply yarn. It is this yarn that makes DONATELLA so special and exclusive. With its 1,525 gr/m2, this range combines tradition with today’s trend in shag pile. With the same Wool Blend pile as Gianni, this range is available in 4 and 5 metres and has also been treated with Protect Plus®.
WOOL SUPREME is an exciting SHAG collection with a very high and loose pile which is very much in demand today. The pile is a combination of heatsetted 4 and 2 ply yarns from Balta's semi-worsted wool spinning mill in Turkey (Balta Orient). It is made of 80% pure new wool, 10% PES Wellbond® and 10% PP. It is a 5/32 cut pile construction with 1,300 gr/m2 in natural colours with Protect Plus® stain protection.
