DOMOTEX HANNOVER 2011 saw 40,000 professionals from 87 different countries attend the world’s leading tradeshow for carpets and floor coverings to sample the latest trends and innovative products for the budding season. DOMOTEX helped the international carpet and floor coverings industry get the new year off to a solid start.

“As DOMOTEX 2011 drew to close, the message was clear: Business is back up again, thanks largely to the momentum generated by new trends and innovations. The high level of interest demonstrated by our visitors and the readiness to invest among the wholesale/retail sector as well as among interior decorators, designers and architects has resulted in a highly successful DOMOTEX 2011,” remarked Stephan Ph. Kühne, member of the Deutsche Messe Managing Board with responsibility for DOMOTEX. “A total of 1,350 exhibitors from 70 countries came to Hannover to display a raft of impressive interior decorating trends, featuring new materials, colors and patterns. DOMOTEX 2011 was a complete success in terms of being a trends barometer and business springboard for the international floor coverings industry,” Kühne added.

On behalf of the German Home Textiles Industry Association, Managing Director Martin Auerbach commented: “We have once again registered a slight jump in sales compared with the previous year. DOMOTEX has provided impressive evidence of the drive and innovative spirit that have enabled the industry to overcome its crisis. With our members reporting numerous customer contacts and new orders received, the signs are clearly pointing to renewed success in 2011. The industry has also taken a major step forward in terms of ecological sustainability.”

The next DOMOTEX HANNOVER will be staged from 14 to 17 January 2012.
