The Furnishing Industry Trust (FIT) ­- the industry’s only dedicated charity ­­- has announced the dates for its key 2011 fund-raising events.

The second Women in Furnishing Lunch and Awards will be held on Thursday 2 June at Furniture Makers Hall, followed a week later by the annual Big Shots clay pigeon shooting event on 9 June at Holland and Holland Shooting Ground, Middlesex. Nine days later (18 June), the popular National Fishing Day match will once again be held at Meadowlands, Coventry.

A full programme of golfing events has also been organised, including:  the Kidderminster Carpet Manufacturers Golf Society Tournament on 10 and 11 May at Kidderminster Golf Club; East Anglian Golf on 10 June at Bury St Edmunds Golf Club; Teesside Golf on 10 August at Catterick Golf Club; and the Midlands Golf Society Tournament on 3 September at Olton Golf Club. Dates are still to be confirmed for the South West Golf, Manchester Golf and 71^st National Golf Championship and Dinner.

Said FIT chief executive Charles Kerrigan: “As well as raising vital money for the charity, all these events are fantastic industry networking opportunities. We’re always looking for new supporters to come along and enjoy these popular events. 2011 promises to be a bumper year – we’ve already taken bookings for 14 teams for Big Shots.”
