LIGNA HANNOVER, which runs from 18 to 22 May 2009 in Hannover, Germany, is the leading trade fair for the international forestry and wood industries. It is the perfect networking and knowledge transfer platform, featuring an array of speaking events, forums and special displays.

LIGNA HANNOVEROne of the highlights is "Wonders in Wood," a combined special presentation and sales exhibition that premiered successfully in 2007 and which will be back again for LIGNA HANNOVER 2009. "Wonders in Wood" evolved from "Artistry in Wood," a popular and highly successful part of the fair from 1995 to 2005.

As the organizers of "Wonders in Wood 2009", Deutsche Messe aims to build on the success of this special showcase, which will have a plaza-like atmosphere and consist of two interconnected areas:

1. Gallery area:

The particular themes and works of art to be featured here (by individual artists, groups of artists or institutes) will be selected by an expert jury. Exhibition in the gallery area is by invitation only; there is no application process. The gallery area is intended to complement the adjacent marketplace with aesthetic highlights.

2. Sales area:

This is where participating exhibitors will be offering their unique wood-crafted items for sale to those attending LIGNA HANNOVER 2009. Exhibition in the sales area is by application. Application is open to artists and artisans from around the world who design and craft original products in wood. Exhibitors will be selected from among the applicants.

Deadline for applications: 31 August 2008

Application forms for the sales area can be downloaded at www.ligna.de/wiw_en. For further information, contact "Wonders in Wood", Angelina Deutsch, Tel. +49 5127 90-2435, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
