Altro Group has appointed Sarah de los Rios as Commercial and Marketing Director.
Sarah de los Rios, who graduated from Edinburgh University with a degree in Spanish, French and Portuguese, later followed by an MBA, joined Altro in 1998 as Latin American Business Development Executive. Having spent 4 years establishing the company’s distribution network in the region, she then moved on to assume responsibility for commercial management in Europe, in 2003, in the role of Continental European Commercial Manager. This was followed, in 2008, by a move to the Global Marketing Team as marketing manager.
As a member of the Altro board, Sarah de los Rios takes up the Marketing Director role, which had been carried forward on a temporary basis by Altro CEO Richard Kahn. In addition, she assumes responsibility for strategic sales development on the retirement of Commercial Director Eric Murnieks. She is UK-based with an international remit. Her team includes the commercial managers based in the UK, Europe, North America and Australia, and the Letchworth based global Marketing team.
Sarah de los Rios commented, “We will continue to focus on increasing our marketing share in the safety flooring and walling markets. The UK market remains important to us and we are excited at the new opportunities we are opening up based on the strength of design and aesthetic possibilities of our products. In overseas markets we are focussing our major growth plans on North America, Australia, Scandinavia, Germany and Spain whilst continuing to enhance growth in other markets through key customer partnership.”
