Carpet Recycling UK at Ecobuild 2011

cr-ukEcobuild 2011 exceeded all expectations for Carpet Recycling UK – the industry-backed association for recycling and reusing waste carpet – with more than 140 new contacts gained from across the supply chain at the London event.

CRUK’s stand and seminar programme highlighting novel re-uses for carpet waste also generated several membership leads, including renewals and new inquiries from raw material suppliers, manufacturers and recyclers. Also exhibiting at Ecobuild were Desso, Miliken, Forbo - three of CRUK’s 14 manufacturing members.

CRUK-seminar“The seminars covered key areas, such as eco design for recycling, trends in specification for sustainable carpets and using carpet waste as a resource in new applications. All were well-attended and well-received by a cross-section of attendees, from architects and specifiers to manufacturers and end users of recyclate,” comments CRUK Co-ordinator Jane Gardner.

“There was also great interest from companies looking to use alternative materials in their products and how they can incorporate these concepts as eco-friendly solutions. As a result, we are expecting a good response to our Entrepreneurs’ Event at our annual Conference on July 5 and 6 at the IET in Birmingham,” adds Jane.
