Interbuild, the UK’s no.1 building show, is back with a bang for 2009!

Ever keen to meet the wants and needs of its exhibitors and visitors, Interbuild has evolved and 2009 will see the launch of two new shows, Interbuild Specifier and Interbuild Onsite.

David Pierpoint, Interbuild Event Director, commented: “We understand that as the UK’s leading construction exhibition, as times change, so must we.

“We hope that by refocusing the show into two new highly targeted areas, we will equip everyone in the industry with the ideas and solutions they need to help their businesses survive and gain advantage, especially in the current economic climate. In particular, we have developed a number of highly innovative feature areas for each show, which will offer visitors an interactive as well as informative experience.”

Interbuild Onsite will be located in Hall 4 of the NEC and promises to provide visitors with 'Everything you need when you go onsite'. Featuring everything from tools to commercial trucks, work wear to installation equipment, it is a must attend for anyone who buys building materials and equipment to find cost-effective suppliers, discover new ideas and try out products for themselves. It will also for the first time incorporate Glassex, the event for the glass and glazing industry.

Located in Hall 5, Interbuild Specifier will be a showcase for construction design, products and process and promises to offer solutions for the complete built environment all under one roof. Visitors will benefit from the wide range of innovative building solutions on show, and have the opportunity to learn and experience how these products work in the context of the environment they have been designed for.

At the heart of Interbuild Specifier is Sustainability Street, which will be made up of structures that demonstrate the latest sustainable building systems and materials. The aim of this area is to bring key vertical markets such as education and healthcare to life through buildings.  Visitors will be able to tour the various structures in Sustainability Street and test the products on show for themselves.

Features of the street will include the ‘99% Challenge’, which is being held in association with BRE and NHIC and will see three period homes renovated to give them a sustainability overhaul.

Other key areas in the street include the Intelligent Home, which will be run in partnership with CEDIA, and provide an example of an affordable home, as well as classrooms, hospital rooms and residential care homes.

Running alongside Sustainability Street will be the Construction Forum, a free conference, led by key construction clients who will debate the major industry issues. Speakers already confirmed include Ian Fordham, Deputy Chief Executive at the British Council for School Environments and Robert Holt, Director of Education at Carillion.
