SATRA extends Notified Body status under the CPD

For over three years SATRA has been notified as a Test House under the CPD for testing aspects of building hardware, thermal insulating products, reflective road studs and ceramic tile adhesives. It can now also test the ceramic tiles themselves.

Recently SATRA's accreditation was extended by the UK Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and it is now designated as a Product Conformity Certification Body for floor coverings that need to comply with EN 14041. This standard covers resilient, laminated and textile floor coverings and allows them to be CE marked. Within Europe, these floor coverings are the subject of regulation on flammability (what is termed reaction to fire). Certification involves checking the production control procedures during manufacture (for example ISO9001) and product testing where appropriate. SATRA has a team of assessors trained to carry out this work.
