FLOORING is taking centre stage at Interbuild 2008 (Sunday 26th – Thursday 30th October) with organisers allocating a prime position within the structural section of the show.

Sat alongside the new Architects’ Forum and the popular offsite and timber areas, flooring now occupies an opportune space from which to target architects, specifiers and designers.

“As part of a wider evaluation, it was decided that flooring would sit more strategically within this area,” says Interbuild Event Director, James Gower.  “Both existing and potential exhibitors have been exceptionally receptive to the revised positioning and we look forward to working with them to maximise their presence within what is one of the show’s busiest areas.”

Some of the big name companies already lined-up to take full advantage of the move are international players Polyflor and Karndean and UK carpet tile specialist Multifloors.

Paving the way for the independents, family-run business, Boniti, is showcasing its selection of natural stone and stone products; while Plastic Extruders is presenting its own-design vinyl, matting and flooring products.  Exhibitors representing the floor finishes and accessories market include Magicman, the repair and resurfacing specialist; and Rubio Mononcoat, suppliers of a hard wax oil that colours and protects wood in a single application.

As well as enjoying a central location, flooring exhibitors will also be invited to participate in Interbuild’s ‘live’ flooring demonstrations, comprising six sessions per day across the full stretch of the show, Sunday 26th through to Thursday 30th October.

{mosimage}Hosted once again by prominent trade figurehead, John Roberts, the programme will involve demonstrations of most types of floorcoverings, working within actual roomsets to give spectators a more authentic experience.

“I am pleased to be returning to the show and I’m currently working with the organisers on the format of the sessions,” says John.  “The flooring demonstrations offer exhibitors a fantastic opportunity to show their products in practice and engage with a captive, trade audience and I anticipate a lot of early interest to secure involvement.”

John Roberts has over 40 years experience within flooring and is an ambassador for training and standards across the industry.   Further championing the cause, he has recently set up The Academy of Flooring Skills (AOFS) with a centre in Suffolk and another soon to open in Dublin; as well as a mobile option servicing the rest of the UK.
