The Mapei Group, celebrated the Official Opening of their 42nd manufacturing facility worldwide, in style here in the UK.
Over 300 visitors attended the fantastic event on a day full of glorious sunshine, at the Mapei UK premises in Halesowen, Birmingham.
Mapei is the world's largest manufacturer of adhesives and general building products - a specialist in the production of products for the installation of all kinds of wall and floor coverings. Staff and guests celebrated the company's commitment to the UK with a variety of entertainment and features throughout the day.
Mr Morante, and Mr Libra representing the Italian Consul for the UK, the Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Dudley Mr Malcolm Knowles, Mr Simonelli from the Italian Chamber of Commerce alongside the Right Honourable Lord Michael Heseltine attended to congratulate Group President Dr Giorgio Squinzi and his family on the official opening and the success of their family run company.
Industry guests assembled for the Official Ribbon Cutting at 11.30am, and were given a full tour of the facility before an elegant 3 course meal in the specially built outdoor marquee. The Right Honourable Lord Michael Heseltine praised the Mapei Group and gave a colourful account of his political career before unveiling a commemorative plaque with Dr Squinzi.
A variety of entertainment followed with an impressive falconry display, table magicians, caricature artiste, and fabulous Sean Connery and Posh & Becks look-alikes - ending with a stunning release of 2005 blue and white balloons, and 43 red balloons representing the opening year and Mapei's manufacturing facilities worldwide. Also on display was Mapei's magnificent £250,000 demonstration bus, with dvd presentations and interior tiling.
