a useful website
Since one of the websites I gave in one of my previous blogs was probably not as useful as it should have been, I started searching for another site to put on another blog.  While I was searching, I found www.howstuffworks.com.  This is the most useful website I have ever seen.  If I would have known about this site before, I would have been able to use it to help me on countless projects that I had trouble finding information on.  Not only that, but it also would have saved me a whole lot of time on research.  This site, as the name implies, shows you how stuff works.  I have never taken an automechanics class so I was interested finding out how cars work.  I knew the basics but I wanted to know more about how they actually work (I guess that is my tendency as an engineering major.)  I found out so much that I didn't know about the actual mechanics of a car.  So if anyone ever wants to find out how something works, I highly recommend this site, it is very good.

how to improve as a writer

Well, as I have said in previous blogs, the one thing that would improve my writing the most is not procrastinating.  This would give me more time to work on actual projects, and with more time, I can learn more.  Since I write most of my drafts at night, some of my sentences don't seem too reasonable.  Have you ever stayed awake real late trying to do an assignment?  When you try to think, you might get some irrational thought that may not have anything to do with the subject your writing on.  For example, once in ninth grade, my teacher told me to write a thesis statement for the next day.  It was like 2:00 am and I have only half concious.  I wrote something and fell asleep.  I woke up like at 4:00 am and remembered me finishing my thesis statement so I put the paper I was sleeping on back in my folder and went back to sleep.  When my teacher asked me to pull out my thesis the next day, I pulled out the paper and was surprised when I read something like “square circle triangle.”  I had just finished my geometry homework before stating my thesis statement.  I showed this to all my friends and we all got a kick out of it.  But my point in telling this story is to illustrate that the quality of my work goes down the sleepier I am.  So not only do miss every mistake when I am proof reading, but I also end up spending less time than I should have on the project and get less skill out of the paper I wrote than I should have.  But with me eliminating procrastination (which I don't do on purpose,) I think that all of the other minor flaws that I have as a writer would start fading away.

work
I have one of the best jobs for someone my age.  It's not because the pay is stupendous, though it is pretty good for someone my age, but because of what I do there.  What I mean by this is not the actual job that I perform there, but actually, everything else that I'm allowed to do besides the work I do.  I do assembly.  The work there is very laid back.  I really don't have to think too much about what I'm doing when I'm working.  The only time I really have to think about what I'm doing is when I start a new job and have to learn all of the new stuff I'm going to be doing.  After that, it all becomes second nature and I can do other things while doing my job effectively at the same time.  My brother also works there so one of the things I do is just chill and talk with him.  He's an interesting guy so that's one reason work doesn't get boring.  Something else that I like to do is listen to books on tape or CD.  This way I can earn money and listen to the latest book that comes out at the same time.  And one last thing is that the work itself is not boring at all.  It always is changing and I don't get stuck doing the same job for months, which for me, prevents the actual job I'm doing from getting old too quick.

center of gravity

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear center of gravity is, of course, the center of gravity of an object.  But metiphorically speaking this could mean many different things.  One of these being love related.  Being someone's center of gravity could mean that someone's life is revolving around yours.

Another possible meaning of center of gravity could be a name of a rock band that wants to be the center of attention.

Someone's center of gravity could be their most precious possetion.  If they were to loose it they would loose equilibrium in their lives.

A center of gravity could be a hobby or pass-time that takes up most of your time and attention.  For example, with center of gravity in this sense, a wife could say to her husband that football is his center of gravity.

A referre in a game could be a center of gravity.  Though a popular player might be the center of attration, the refferee would be the center of gravity because he has the final word and he is the one who holds the most power in a game.

the most important thing I need to revise
After looking back at all the project's we've done, I keep seeing some of the same mistakes.  I sometimes start to drift off on tangents.  I sometimes even find that some paragraphs aren't necessary or could be integrated into another paragraph.  Another problem that I see is my organization.  I just throw a little here and a little there when sometimes I could be making good stong paragraphs with those comments that I already have used.  I also see that I leave some thoughts incomplete.  For example, I may start talking about something, get the my final point, and then I don't state my final point.  I think this is because when I write, I think that the conclusion that is drawn is common sense and doesn't need to be stated, when in fact it really does.  Not only does it finish the thought, but it also reinforces the idea that I am trying to get across to the audience.  I also sometimes forget to go back and write in the citations because I just read over the paper and overlook the fact that I actually used sources.  This also falls under lack of organization because if I were organized as I were getting my information, then I would just go back and see where and what I got from all my sources and be able to cite in the right spots in the paper.  But for me I think that all of these minor problems revolve around one major problem, procrastination.  Before actually looking at the stats on the digital drop box, I thought that I had only procrastinated on one or maybe two of the projects, but as it turns out, the only one that I didn't procrastinate on is the technology essay.  The thing is that I turned that one in at 6:22 which isn't even that early.  I probably ended up working on that most of that day and little work into it prior to that day.  The rest of all of my drafts were turned in no earlier than 12:00 AM.  The reason I say that this affected my writing is not only because procrastination is a bad habbit to get into, but also, if I'm working on a project that late at night, I'm more than likely going to be very drowsy and wont be thinking straight.  This goes back to what I said, this major problem is what causes all of my other problems.  As I looked back on all of my drafts, I could see all of the stupid errors and tangents that I made, but when its 3:00 in the morning, I probably wouldn't feel like reading over it again to see if I could catch anything.  And right now, as I speak, I am going to post this blog, and right after I do that I'm going to start working on my analysis project that is due tomorrow.  So, as you can very well see, this is by far my biggest problem that I have to overcome.
